Leadership Quote

Posted by pavlo on April 5, 2009

Hey,

For this terms inquiry unit we are looking at leadership and to rap up our Inquiry for this term we are trying to describe a leadership quote.

My quote:

Rosalynn Carter:

A leader takes people where they want to go. A great leader takes people where they don’t necessarily want to go, but ought to be.

My picture:

My understanding of this quote is that a leaders job is to teach his followers to do better than what they can already do. For example if you were to have a child and that child was gifted at something you would want him/her to learn how to use it to a further extent, wouldn’t you? So that is a part of being a leader, extending peoples abilities beyond what they already know.

A leader knows the abilities of others to achieve new things. He/She knows what position you should play, what subject you are good at or what type of person you could be. That’s why a leader tries to teach his/her people what needs to be taught to prepare them for their future.

Later :) Pavlo

I think you wrote a great explanation for the quote. I especially agree with the part about if you had a gifted child you would want them to learn how to use it to a further extent.
I think it is a great image as well because it shows a good example.
