Earlier this year we had the oppitunity to design the year 7 jumpers so the night before deadline I created my own year 7 jumper and voted by us (the year 7’s) It was my design that was chosen. So I just wanted to know what you thought of my design, was there anything I needed to include, did I make good choice of colours? Please answer through commenting, thanks!

In our classroom we are currently participating in Smart Kiddies, Smart Kiddies is an online mathematics site that we use to do maths tasks that our teacher sets us and practice our maths all-round by playing against other people around the world. If more teachers used this maths site I think there problem of trying to make maths exciting would be over once and for all. Not saying the Interactive Whitebored isn’t any good!

Im sure you all know about the High Flyer program that goes on at our school if not visit my High Flyer page: http://pavlo.edublogs.org/high-flyer/. For have the desire and know-how to be life long learners i have to complete a set of criteria to show proof in that area so I chose to construct somthing. This is what I did:

During week 6 I had built an Electric Plane Launcher with my brother.

There were a lot of different pieces in there such as electric wires, pulleys, mini motors, a battery box and some plastic discs.

My brother and I worked hard, we read the instructions and we took turns. After a whole hour of trying to get this thing done we were finally complete.

When we went to test it out the aeroplanes we made only went about a metre. But its something I am proud of doing with my brother.

On Monday the 25th I was asked to go to the global leadership convention at AAMI staduim being a year 7 SRC rep. This was hosted by world vision and their focus was on the global food crises and how we can make a difference. There were at least 2 or 3 people representing each school and all up we had 80 different schools and 350 people, everyone was split up into 12 different groups. Each group participated in a range of activities to explain to us in a way how people in poverty live, we also had a group of people come to speak to us about there lives how they had lived in poverty.

During my time at AAMI stadium I learnt a lot of facts about what world vision do to help people in poverty and how we can make a difference such as doing the 40 hour famine, raise money in your school or even the tiniest things like a shorter shower or not leaving the tap on while brushing your teeth. Hey guys,

During my holidays I sure did enjoy Easter …. you know getting all those chocolates from your family and then eating as much chocolate as you can before you get sick. But no that wasn’t my holiday highlight, during the second week I had left home on the Monday to go to black point for the 3rd time along with my godparents.

After a long hour and a half of driving we finally got there, so we unpacked all of our bags from the car and headed into the holiday house. Once we had unpacked us kids went down to the beach which was basically our backyard while the parents got prepared for lunch. After our lunch me and my dad started to hook up our fishing rods to get ready to go fishing on the boat with my god brother (Larry) and godfather (Pezzy). once we where in the boat and in the water i got out my squid jig and started fishing for squid, it only took about a minute until we caught our first squid and that was pretty good because by the time we finished fishing we caught 12 squid and one red mullet. Pretty good .

The next day all of us woke up had breakfast then we all got on the boat and headed out to the spot, both my sister and mother were already sick after half an hour of fishing. So we headed back to the holiday house and dropped them off. We kept on fishing until it was lunch that’s when we beached both boats in our ‘backyard’ and had lunch. After that us kids were bugged so only the fathers went out fishing on one of the boat. We stopped playing in the water after about an hour the we went inside and played our ds for a while until dinner was ready. Once we had dinner we all sat down and watched the movie Alvin and the chipmunks and headed off to sleep.

On the third day we raced on our bogie Bord’s the whole time except in the afternoon when we went razor fishing at low tide. We went out a good 50 metres and it was only up to my waist because it was low tide, once we found our first razor fish I had to pull it out while larry looked out for any crabs. when i was pulling out the next razor fish a crab ran right through my legs and it almost nipped me the little critter, we caught 10 razor fish all up. I have no idea why they call it a fish because it looks more like a oval shaped shell with a root on the end.

The forth day wasn’t to fun cause it rained the hole time and we were stuck inside playing ds, phase 10 and we watched drop dead Fred at one stage. We helped my godparents pack there stuff because they wanted to leave so we had the next day all alone. The last day was pretty relaxing we slept in, played a card game with the family and by then it was time for the 1 and a half hour trip back home.
